Polynucleotides are injectable biostimulators, working at a cellular level to trigger the skin to rejuvenate itself. Polynucleotides are comprised of long chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. They are tiny fragments of highly purified proteins from fish, usually Salmon DNA. They are mixed with saline or other ingredients, into a gel like product.
They are tiny injections, a bit like skin boosters, such as Profhilo and Seventy Hyal, but with more science!
When injected into the skin the nucleotide proteins interact with the skin cells, switching on the fibroblast cells, to make more collagen and elastin. Essentially creating the perfect cellular environment for the cells to behave in a youthful way, triggering the skin to rejuvenate itself. The polynucleotides also help mop up free radicals, slowing cell damage from the environment. Effectively, slowing down the ageing process.
They also have an anti inflammatory effect, great for those that suffer with rosacea or are prone to break outs.
So many of the best antiaging or regenerative treatments have transferred across from the medical world. It has a very good safety profile. The leading practitioners say that even those with a fish allergy can have this treatment. Although, at the clinic, we do not treat anyone with a fish allergy.
Those that are advised not to have treatment are, those with circulatory disorders, ongoing dermatitis, epilepsy, diabetes, active herpes, and autoimmune disease. It’s also not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
After a treatment, you may experience short lived redness, bruising and possibly temporary swelling. Although, we try to minimise this as much as possible. Please note that drinking alcohol just before and after treatment increases the risk of side effects.

A series of little injections are needed. Each one is small and can sting a little, but you will possibly needs quite a few of them. A topical numbing cream can be used in advance of this treatment.
