Your skin can grow all sorts of unsightly, unwanted lumps and bumps, such as; skin tags, fibrous moles, keratosis, warts, etc. They are such a common nuisance. Often, these can be quickly and easily treated.
After taking a medical history and looking at your skin condition, you may be advised to seek further advice from your GP. However, if declared benign, or not anything to worry about, just ‘cosmetic’, we can help you.
At Primelase Berkshire we can use Freeze pen cryotherapy and Accor Plasma Pen.
When held 1mm above the skin or unwanted lesion, a tiny electrical ‘plasma arc’ is created. When the arc touches the skin, it vaporises a micro dot of the skins surface. This offers great control when treating very small, unwanted skin imperfections. Often only one treatment is required. Skin tags, DPN and keratosis are removed straight away and require a short healing process. Warts may take more than one treatment. Some warts will return.
It is possible that some numbing cream may be required for a more comfortable treatment, as there can be a very short sharp sting.
A test patch may be required. Your therapist will discuss with you at the time of consultation.
Freeze Pen Cryotherapy uses extreme cold to destroy unwanted tissue such as warts, skin tags and verrucas. Some moles can also be treated with cryotherapy.
Freezing naturally makes the treatment area numb, however, there may be some stinging as the area thaws after treatment. Some patients feel some discomfort the day after treatment.
Afterwards there may be blistering and crusting. This resolves in 1-2 weeks. This is when the skin lesion that was treated should be gone. There may be some difference in pigmentation in the area treated. This usually resolves through the healing process.
A skin lesion such as a harmless skin tag is usually gone after 1 treatment. Larger tags, warts and verrucas may take multiple treatments. Some pre- treatment may be involved such as the use of salicylic acid to remove the thickened skin, or the lesion may be pared down just prior to treatment.
Where there are multiple lesion, often seen with papulosa nigra, a few lesions may be treated per session.
