We use a variety of AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) to refresh, rejuvenate, and treat the skin.
The most common acids used in peels are Glycolic (from sugarcane), Lactic (from milk), Malic (from apples), Phytic (from plant seeds), Salicylic (from willow bark). They each have their own properties and effect the skin in different ways. They can be used on the face and body.
AHA’s are used on the skin to loosen the bonds that ‘glue’ dead skin cells together and loosen skin debris blocking pores. This allows for a more youthful skin cell turnover. A new fresher, more hydrated layer of skin is revealed. Smoother, clearer and softer to the touch.
Over the longer term, new collagen and elastin forms to enhance skin firmness, softening lines and allowing the skin to be more resilient.

Potent and effective. Glycolic Acid promotes regeneration of new cell growth. Glycolic peels brighten and refresh the skin, balancing oil production and congestion, helping to reduce bacteria in acne prone skin. Great for spotty backs and chests too.
Skin is cleansed and prepared. The glycolic peel is applied to the skin with a brush. There may be some tingling and itching. After a number of minutes the peel is neutralized and the skin is cleansed. A mask may be applied.
Improvements are seen quickly. A course of 4-6 treatments is required for the best results. Skin becomes brighter and more resilient over a course of treatment. Pores and fine lines improve over time.
The interval between treatments varies depending on the skin condition. Usually no downtime, though skin may dry and flaky. Maintenance treatment will be required.
Preparation with a glycolic cream for 1 week may be required to treat facial skin.

A potent and highly effective peel for quick results in sun damaged and acne prone skin. Designed to penetrate the skin in a controlled way, to stimulate collagen, thickening the dermis, giving a tightening effect. See improvement in uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. Skin looks fresher and more toned.
Skin is cleansed and prepared. The trichloracetic acid (TCA) solution is systematically applied to the skin with a cotton wool bud. A number of coats is applied. You will feel some tingling and irritation, although this peel is quite tolerable.
A specific post peel cream is applied and allowed to sink into the skin. SPF is applied.
Your skin will initially feel tight and look a little pink. Over the course of 5-7 days the treated skin will shed in light flakes. This can be disguised by lots of moisturizer but you will not be able to wear liquid foundation during the peeling days.
Some preparation may be required, especially if treating pigmentation.
Peels are done every 7-10 days in a course of 4 treatments. Although improvements are seen from the first treatment. If treating pigmentation, a course of 4 would be recommended.
